What We Offer

We provide individualised, 24 hour care from a dedicated, well trained team.

We have many activities available for our residents, as well as outside entertainers that come in and provide some great shows and live music, keeping everyone entertained.

We are members of Memory Lane Therapy and NAPA (National Activity Providers Association).

We have regular visits from pet dogs and our animal loving residents often enjoy their time spent with mobile zoos and owl experiences.

We are part of the community in our lovely village and residents can attend the coffee and cupcakes at the village hall monthly, visit the local cafe and pubs and also use the park which is opposite the home.

We have close links to Downham School and Ramsden Preschool which is of benefit to both residents and children.

Ensure to check out our social media, all linked at the top of the homepage.

Potential residents undergo a thorough assessment of needs before admission. Admission depends on The Belfry being able to cater for those needs.

Each assessment is given careful consideration by the home's management and discussed with all involved.  Where there is no current vacancy, it is possible for an applicant to be placed on a waiting list if they so wish.

When admission is agreed, the residents individual plan of care provides the basis on which The Belfry's care services are delivered. Each person's plan includes a description of their preferred daily routine, their likes and dislikes in relation to food and any specific dietary requirements and similar matters. It includes their preferences in respect to how they liked to be addressed and what dignity, respect and privacy means to them in terms of daily behaviour and actions. We find it is particularly important to find this out in relation to any intimate personal care activities that staff are expected to carry out.

Visiting

We do not have set visiting hours at The Belfry as we like friends and family to feel they can visit at their own convenience, visitors are welcomed at any time.

Meal times

At The Belfry, we believe that choice is at the heart of everything we do, including mealtimes and refreshments.

Food and drinks are available throughout the day and night, with refreshments regularly offered by our caring staff. Residents are encouraged to enjoy what they like, when they like.

Residents can request exactly what they fancy. Shopping is ordered several times each week, and before every order is placed, residents are consulted to ensure any personal requests or favourite items are included whenever possible.

Fresh fruit bowls are available in our communal areas, and a fully stocked drinks and snacks fridge is located in the lounge for residents to help themselves whenever they wish.

Breakfast is served each day at a time that suits the individual resident. A wide selection of hot and cold options is available, allowing everyone to choose exactly what they would like. As with all meals and refreshments, breakfast can be enjoyed in residents' bedrooms or in one of our comfortable communal dining areas.

Lunch is a freshly prepared, home-cooked hot meal served at around 1:00 pm each day. Residents may also enjoy a glass of wine with their meal if they wish. A weekly menu is available to view, but there are always alternative options. If the planned meal is not to a resident's taste, our staff will happily prepare an alternative of their choice.

Supper is served at around 5:30 pm. Residents can choose from a wide variety of options, and staff will discuss their preferences each day before preparing their meal to ensure everyone enjoys something they like.

A wide range of drinks, light refreshments and snacks is available 24 hours a day. These are regularly offered by staff and are always accessible whenever residents would like them.
